Banking Daily Trading Stats: What is the market thinking?
To navigate the Banking Daily Trading Stats dashboard effectively, focus on the two main forces that drive bank stock returns: Valuation (is it cheap?) and Momentum (are others buying it?).
1. Spotting the Value (P/B Ratio)
In banking, the Price-to-Book (P/B) Ratio is your primary filter.
- The Goal: Look for the “Value Pick” badges. These highlight banks trading below a P/B of 1.0, meaning you are buying the bank for less than its net asset value.
2. Identifying Smart Money (Fund Flow Heatmap)
The heatmap tells you where institutional investors are moving their cash in real-time.
- High Conviction: Look for the Darkest Blue in the Volume column paired with a Vibrant Green in the Price Δ% column.
- The Signal: If a bank shows “Volume Above Average” alongside a price gain, it indicates strong fund accumulation, not just retail noise.
3. Comparing the Field (Lollipop & Bar Charts)
Use the bottom charts to see if a bank is an “outlier” or just following the crowd.
- Price Change %: The lollipop chart makes it easy to see which bank is leading the pack today. If the whole sector is flat but one bank is up 2%, there is likely bank-specific news (like a dividend or earnings beat).
- Volume Leaderboard: Use this to see which stock is the “liquidity king” of the day. High liquidity makes it easier to enter or exit large positions without moving the price too much.
The 3-Step Routine
- Check Cheapest P/B: Is there a deep discount available?
- Confirm Volume: Is the volume “Above Average”?
- Monitor the Gainer: Is the “Best Gainer” a value play or a premium bank?
