BMQ50 Daily Trading Stats Guide
Dashboard Overview
This dashboard tracks the real-time daily trading activity and performance of the stocks within the Bursa Malaysia Quality 50 (BMQ50) Index. The BMQ50 Index is a benchmark of 50 non-FBMKLCI companies listed on the Main and ACE Markets that have been selected for their strong, high-quality financial characteristics.
1. Index Filters (Top Navigation)
At the top of the dashboard, you can toggle between different stock universes:
- BMQ50 Index: Views the standard 50 high-quality constituents.
- BMQ50 Shariah: Filters the view to only show the stocks from the Shariah-compliant variant of the index, which requires approval by the Shariah Advisory Council (SAC) of the Securities Commission Malaysia.
- All: Displays the combined list of stocks.
2. Daily Summary Highlights
These four cards provide a quick snapshot of the market’s current trading day:
- Total Index Volume: Displays the total number of shares traded today across the selected 50 companies.
- Best Gainer: Identifies the stock with the highest daily percentage increase in share price (e.g., MNHLDG up +7.78%).
- Worst Loser: Identifies the stock with the steepest daily percentage drop in share price (e.g., CTOS down -4.11%).
- Cheapest P/B: Highlights the most undervalued stock based on its Price-to-Book ratio (e.g., PERDANA at 0.47x).
3. Fund Flow Heatmap (Main Table)
This central table provides detailed, stock-by-stock trading data:
- Company, Ticker & Sector: Identifies the stock and categorizes it by its official Bursa Malaysia sector classification.
- Last Price & Price Δ%: Shows the latest stock price and its percentage change for the day. The column is color-coded using a diverging scale (Red for negative, Yellow for neutral, Green for positive gains).
- Volume & Vol vs Avg: Displays the exact number of shares traded. To help visualize liquidity, a blue bar fills the cell relative to the day’s maximum volume. The adjacent column flags whether the day’s volume is “Above” or “Below” the average. (Note: All companies on this list already meet a minimum liquidity standard of at least 10% trade velocity over the past 12 months to qualify for the index).
- Book Value & P/B Ratio: Displays the stock’s book value and Price-to-Book ratio. The P/B column is color-coded to highlight valuation: Green indicates the stock is trading below its book value (<1x), while yellow and orange indicate higher premiums (>1x to >2x).
4. Visual Trend Charts (Bottom Section)
These charts offer a quick visual summary of the data in the table:
- Volume by Company (Left): A horizontal bar chart ranking the stocks by their total traded volume for the day. The color of each bar corresponds to the stock’s price direction (green for a price increase, red for a decrease).
- Price Change % (Right): A “lollipop” chart that visually plots the daily percentage change for every stock. A vertical reference line sits at 0%. Stocks plotted to the right with green dots are in positive territory, while stocks to the left with red dots are in negative territory, allowing you to instantly gauge the overall market sentiment for the BMQ50 index constituents.
